Kangra one of the Himachal’s most beautiful valleys, rolls down the southern edge of the magnificent Dhauladhar range, in gentle slopes that are covered .

Kangra known as the “Mini Switzerland of India”, is one of the prevalent hill stations, which is about 26 km from the beautiful Dalhousie in Himachal.

Dalhousie Khajjiar and Chamba Itinerary: One of the most popular tourist places in India, Himachal Pradesh is home to snow-clad peaks, stunning lakes, charming architecture, and vibrant culture. The state is studded with small hill towns each with its own unique identity.

DESTINATION: DELHI – SHIMLA – MANALI – DHARAMSHALA – DALHAUSIE – AMRITSAR DEPARTURE

Day 1: DELHI TO SHIMLA (365 K.MS 10 HRS)

On arrival pick up from Airport or Railway station meet and leave for Shimla. On the way visit Pinjore Garden, Arrive Shimla by evening and check into hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2 : SHIMLA

Post breakfast excursion of Chail, Kufri.   Chail is located in the state of Himachal Pradesh. It is a small hamlet with natural setting free from fast life, pollution and concrete jungles. Visit Chail palace in Chail. Kufri is popular for its trekking trails and hiking. The pine scented air and the beautiful views around, are attractions of this serene hill resort. Kufri is famous for its Himalayan National Park. Himalayan National Park at Kufri has several animals of the area including bears and musk deer. Horses and yaks are there for rides. By afternoon we return to Shimla and visit various places in and around. Shimla mosques built in (1830), Vice regal Lodge built in (1885), Christ Church built in (1844), The Gaiety Theatre- the first beauty contest of world was supposed to start (1887), The Grind lays Bank (1912) – the world wide bank started by Robert Melville Grind lay, The Scandal Point, Jakhoo Temple – Dedicated to Lord Hanuman, this temple is at an altitude of 2,455m near the highest point of Shimla ridge. It offers a fine view over the surrounding valleys, out to the snowcapped peaks, and over the town itself. The temple is a 45-minute walk from the Mall. Jakhu is a vantage point for witnessing the changing skyline as the sun rises or sets.  Evening explore the famous Shopping Plaza of the North. Return to hotel for night stay.

Day 3: SHIMLA – MANALI (254 KMS)

After breakfast drive to Manali via Kullu Valley – the largest valley is also known as the Valley of Gods. The Beas River runs through the middle of the valley. En- route visiting Manikaran- World’s Hottest Sulfur Spring Waters and is a holy place for Hindu & Sikhs. This is the lovely forested valley of the Parvati River, which flows into the Beas near Bhuntar. The legend goes that Shiva and Parvati lived here. When Parvati lost her earrings in the river Parvati, they were traced to the snake god, Shesh Nag. Shesh Nag then snorted, releasing the earrings and creating Manikaran’s hot springs — The water is so hot here that you can boil rice, so pure that it’s said to cure ailments. Guru Nanak is believed to have performed miracles at Manikaran and there’s an important gurudwara here.

Day 4: MANALI –ROHTANG-MANALI

Very early morning we leave for Rohatang Pass (subject to permit and if open). Situated at an altitude of 3979 mtrs above sea level and 51 kms outside Manali is the mighty Rohtang Pass – the gateway to Lahaul-Spiti valley. It affords a wide panoramic view of the mountains. Here one sees the majesty of the mountains at its height and splendor.

If not open we will take you on an excursion to Sollang valley: A beautiful drive, scenic views of cascading mountains and the gently flowing Beas River will make this experience a wee bit more special. If you are here during winter, you can go for the intense 300-meter ski lift or other smaller lifts and jumps. There are a bundle of surprises in store for kids as well. From zorbing to horse riding, you can pack in a big picnic basket and find the perfect picnic spot for a wonderful evening. There are innumerable shops selling delicious snacks and the good old Maggie for the growling stomachs. Overnight at Manali.

Day 5: MANALI (LOCAL S/S)

After breakfast proceed the local sightseeing in and around Manali, Like Hadimba Temple, Manu Temple, Vashisht Bath, Van Vihar, Tibetan Monastery, and Club House. Afternoon is at leisure and evening shopping at the local market at mall Road. Overnight at hotel.

Day 6: MANALI TO DHARMSHALA (230 kms 7-8hrs)

After breakfast leave for Dharamshala. Arrive by later afternoon and check into hotel. Rest of the time at leisure. Overnight at hotel

Day 7: DHARMSHALA

Dharamshala -the land of the Lama, jewel of Kangra Valley. Set against the backdrop of the dramatic Dhauladhar Mountains, Dharamshala is perched on the high slopes in the upper reaches of Kangra Valley. The town is divided into two distinct and widely separated sections, Upper and Lower Dharamshala, which differ almost a thousand metres in height Dharamshala overlooks the plains and is surrounded by dense pine trees and Deodar forests. A nearby snowline with numerous streams and cool healthy atmosphere makes the surroundings very attractive. The colourful temple and Gompas, which reflect the culture of Tibet, adds attraction for the visitor. Visit Old Church, Bhagsu Waterfall and Mall Road at Mcleod Ganj and Dalai Lama Temple. Evening time visit to Mall Road for shopping diner at hotel night stay at Dharamshala.

Day8: DHARMSHALA – DALHOUSIE (145 KMS 5 HRS)

After breakfast drive to Dalhousie. Arrive by afternoon and check into hotel. Dalhousie was established in 1854 by the British Governor General Lord Dalhousie. Built around five hills Dalhousie is clothed in stately groves of deodar and oak. Its marvelous forests trails overlook vistas of wooded hills, waterfalls, spring and rivulets. Dalhousie still has a touch of the “Raj” and its colonial style building and houses bring back the flavors of an earlier era.

Day 9: DALHAUSIE – CHAMBA – KHAJJIAR – DALHAUSIE

Khajjiar called Mini Switzerland is situated at the height of 6500 feet above the sea level. Enjoy the panoramic view of Khajjiar. Visit Kalatop, Chamba (famous for Temples) dinner at hotel night stay at Dalhousie.

Day 10: DALHOUSIE – CHANDIGARH (280 KMS 10 HRS)

After breakfast check out hotel. Depart for Chandigarh. Chandigarh is the 1st planned modern city of India designed by the French architect Le Corbusier. The city was named after the mother goddess of power, Chandi, whose temple Chandimandu is a feature of the new city. On arrival check in hotel after fresh-up dinner at hotel night stay at Chandigarh.

Day 11: CHANDIGARH TO DELHI (250 KMS 5 HRS)

After breakfast at hotel visit THE ROCK GARDEN An unpretentious entrance leads to a magnificent, almost surrealist arrangement of rock fossils, broken chinaware, discarded fluorescent tubes, broken and cast away glass bangles, building waste, coal and clay – all juxtaposed to create a dream folk world of palaces, soldiers, monkeys, village life, women and temples, than visit Chandigarh Museum, Rose Garden and Leisure Valley.  If time permit visit The Capitol Complex, The Legislative Assembly, The High Court, The Secretariat, later drop at airport or return to Delhi.
