DAY 01: ARRIVE CHANDIGARH – MANALI

Pick up from Chandigarh airport and drive for Manali (8-9hrs) Arrive by late evening and check into hotel. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 02: MANALI

After breakfast excursion to Gulaba and treasure some precious moments of peace and serenity. On the way to the famous Rohtang Pass, this small scenic spot is admired for its abundant natural beauty and magical aura. The view of the majestic snowcapped mountains, the swirling Beas River and the small grasslands simply add charm to the area. Named after Raja Gulab Singh of Kashmir who camped here whilst invading China through this area, Gulaba is slowly gaining popularity. The road to Gulaba opens only during the summer months. During winter, you can hire a mountain bike.

Make sure to clad yourself in layers and layers of woolens before setting to brave the chilly winds. We will take you on an excursion to Sollang valley: A beautiful drive, scenic views of cascading mountains and the gently flowing Beas River will make this experience a wee bit more special. A must visit attraction on your Manali trip, Sollang Valley gives you stunning views of the snowcapped peaks and beautiful glaciers. If you are in the mood for some adventure, indulge in some skiing, paragliding or exciting ATB rides. If you are here during winter, you can go for the intense 300-meter ski lift or other smaller lifts and jumps. There are a bundle of surprises in store for kids as well. From zorbing to horse riding,. You can pack in a big picnic basket and find the perfect picnic spot for a wonderful evening. There are innumerable shops selling delicious snacks and the good old Maggie for the growling stomachs. Overnight at Manali.

DAY 03: MANALI

A.M. sightseeing covering Hidimba Temple: Nestled amidst towering pine trees, this pagoda style temple is a sight to behold. Away from the hustle bustle of the main market, the temple is soaked in absolute peace and serenity. You will be charmed by the sheer art of amazing stone carvings that depict local deities, plants and various animals at Hidimba Devi Temple. The stone carving inside the temple had naturally sprung up from earth and the structure is made around it. Devoted to Hidimba Devi, Bheema’s wife in the Mahabharata, this one of its kind temple is flocked by devotees all through the year. Tracing back the origin, it was constructed by Maharaja Bahadur Singh during 1552.  The temple also serves as a venue to local weddings, so if you’re lucky, you might chance upon some happy celebrations! Reached by a small flight of stairs, there are benches around the premises where you can relax and treasure a few moments of peace and quiet. The picturesque surroundings offer ample opportunities for amateurs to click away.  You can also visit nearby market and purchase some Himachali shawls. Visit Van Vihar, Vashisth Kund, the Manu Temple, Gompas are the Tibetan monasteries and Club House.  P.M. at leisure.  Overnight at hotel.

DAY 04: MANALI/ KAZA (200 KMS/ 10 – 12 HRS)

Travel by jeep from Manali to Kaza over the Rohtang Pass (3980 m) and Kunzam Pass (4558 m) enroute crossing Spitian villages like Losar, Hal and Rangrik. Relax& retrieve.

DAY 05: KAJA

Morning visit the Ki monastery, 12 kms from Kaza. This century – old Gompa is a labyrinth of rooms and corridors – and at one time also acted as a fort. It houses valuable Thangkas and offers a panoramic view of the area. Also visit the small gompa at Kibber, 9 kms further ahead. Kibber at 4205 m has the distinction of being one of the highest permanently inhabited villages of the region. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight at hotel

DAY 06: KAZA/ TABO (48 KMS/ 2 HRS)

After breakfast leave Kaza to Tabo en-route visiting Pin Valley, Kungri Monastery, and Dhankar Monastery. Visit Tabo Monastery which was founded in 996 AD by the great teacher Richensang-po, Tabo is renowned for its breathtaking murals and stucco images – and is often called “The Ajanta of the Himalayas”. Day at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 07: Tabo/ Nako/ Kalpa (195 kms/ 8- 9 hrs)

Travel by surface from Tabo to Nako which is located by the banks of lake. Visit the monastery and walk around Village. Later continue drive enroute viewing confluence of Satluj & Spiti Rivers at Khab. Kalpa village is located in backdrop of Kinner Kailash mountain range. Rest of day free to explore Kalpa village. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 08: Kalpa/ Sangla (51 kms/ 2 hrs)

After breakfast travel by surface from Kalpa to Sangla enroute visiting Kamru Fort & village and we will visit the beautifully carved old temples and Buddhist monasteries. We will have plenty of opportunity to speak to the local people in these valleys. The Sangla valley is also known as the Baspa Sangla valley, after river Baspa which flows through the valley and it is the part of Kinnaur valley. Overnight in tented accommodation / or hotel in Sangla.

DAY 09: In Sangla

In picturesque settings and with interesting architecture, visit the village of Chitkul. (2,758 metres ) which is the last village on Indian side on the Indo Tibetan border. The village of Chitkul is like something from a fairy tale, and you will have a chance to walk slowly around it. The landscapes are stunning, and you will have plenty of time to enjoy them and talk to the local people. We will return to Sangla for lunch in the local restaurants and later the rest of the day is free to relax in the mountain landscape or if you like you can walk to another nearby villages or nature walk.

DAY 10: Sangla/ Sarahan (92 kms/ 4 hrs)

Travel from Sangla to Sarahan by jeep. On arrival check in at hotel. Afternoon visit the famous Bhimakali temple, regarded as one of the Shaktipeeths.

DAY 11: Sarahan/ Shimla (184 kms/ 6 hrs)

Travel from Sarahan to Shimla enroute visiting the hill resorts of Narkanda and Kufri. Kufri is popular for its trekking trails and hiking. Many tourists extend their tour to Shimla and visit Kufri. The pine scented air and the beautiful views around, attract travelers to this serene hill resort. There are a number of beautiful spots that one can visit when in Kufri. Kufri is famous for its Himalayan National Park. Himalayan National Park at Kufri has several animals of the area including bears and musk deer. Horses and yaks are there for rides. Reach Shimla by afternoon and check into hotel. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 12: Shimla

Breakfast at hotel. Later transfer to Chandigarh airport.
