Best time to visit Meghalaya. Meghalaya is heaven on earth with its lush valleys, pristine waterfalls and otherworldly views in the monsoon.

What better way to spend your monsoon holiday than in the state that is called as the ‘land of the clouds’ and in the wettest region in the world? You got it right! I am referring to Meghalaya’s Cherrapunji region where rains don’t take a break for three months and where clouds merge one with the land.

DURATION: 05 NIGHTS / 06 DAYS

Day 1: GUWAHATI – SHILLONG

Arrive at Guwahati airport, pick up from airport and proceed for a visit to Kamakhya temple, Umananda Temple. After visiting temples, drive to Shillong (130kms / 3 hrs drive), en-route stop at the scenic view point of the Umiam Lake (the largest manmade lake in Northeast India), reach Shillong and check into hotel. Overnight stay will be in Shillong.

Day 2 : SHILLONG – JOWAI – SHILLONG

After breakfast a day trip to Jowai, visit Nartiang Monolith Park, followed by Phe Phe falls (among the stunning falls) have to walk down for 30 minutes to reach the enjoy the falls, from there we will proceed for Krang Suri falls (walk for 20 minutes to reach the fall), after spending some time return to Shillong and reach by evening. Overnight at Shillong

Day 3: SHILLONG – CHERRAPUNJEE

After breakfast we will leave for Cherrapunjee (56 kms / 02 hrs drive), enroute visit the Elephant falls, and the drive further to Cherrapunjee. At Cherrapunjee we visit Mawkadok Valley View Point, Wakaba Falls, Seven Sister Falls, The Nohkalikai Falls (the fourth highest falls in the world), Mawsmai Cave, Dainthlen Falls and Khyram falls. After an exciting day, check into hotel. Evening at leisure and overnight stay in Cherrapunjee.

Day 4: CHERRAPUNJEE

After breakfast drive to visit The Wei – sowdong fall, (01 hr drive) on reaching the site of the falls you will be stunned by the beauty of the falls, you can enjoy the view from the top or if you wish to go down then it would take 20 minutes to reach the bottom. After exploring and enjoying the fall we will get back to track and then drive to visit Garden of Caves which ( 02 hrs drive), after exploring for the day drive back to Cherrapunjee and overnight stay.

Day 5: CHERRAPUNJEE – MAWLLYNNONG – SHILLONG

After breakfast we drive to Mawllynnong (110 kms / 03 hrs drive), explore the village and also trek for 10 min to visit the Single Decker Living Root Bridge in Riwai village, then we will proceed for Borhill Falls and from there to visit The Dawki (Indo – Bangla Border) and then to Shnongpdeng Village and enjoy a boat ride in the Umgot river, after the daylong excursion drive back to Shillong and overnight stay.

Day 6: SHILLONG – GUWAHATI – FLY

After breakfast drive to Guwahati airport for onward destination. (If time permits we can do some more sightseeing in Guwahati)
