DAY 01: ARRIVE CHENNAI

Upon arrival in Chennai our representative will greet you and transfer to your hotel. Chennai, a beautiful blend of the traditional Tamil Hindu culture and modern British culture, is a major tourist destination and the capital city of Tamil Nadu. DAY 02: CHENNAI – TIRUPATI (140 KMS/3 HRS)

Morning guided city tour of Chennai. Chennai highlights all the major places and tourist attractions in the city. Fort St. George, Marina Beach, Anna Memorial, Light House, Elliot’s Beach, Valluvar Kottam and Government Museum, later proceed to Tirupati. Arrive and check into hotel. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 03: TIRUPATI – CHENNAI – MAHABALIPURAM (200 KMS/6 HRS)

Morning darshan of TIRUPATI BALAJI.  A revered destination of South India, time and again startle travelers and pilgrims with its powers. The city beholds the power of Lord Venkateshwara and is one of the oldest and the richest temples of world located in the Chittior district of the state of Andhra Pradesh. Being a sacred spot, Tirupati forms divine destinations for tourists. Not much people know this but in Tamil literature the city is known Vengadam. Tirupati is the year 2006 was much of surprise. As for we people considered either Rajasthan or Goa to be the best destination but none of them was able to stand the pull of the god land. DAY 04: MAHABALIPURAM (APPROX 60 KMS/1 HRS)

A.M visit temples of Mahabalipuram, Standing testimonies of the ancient Indian architecture. The splendor of the sculpture has made it a hot spot for tourism. The UNESCO has recognized and acknowledged these temples as world heritage sites. Afternoon relax at the beach.  Overnight at hotel

DAY 05: MAHABALIPURAM – KANCHIPURAM – TANJORE  (309 KMS/7.5 HRS)

Morning proceed for Tanjore en-route visiting Kanchipuram – famous for its more then 1000-temple shrines. Here, explore the magic of 124 rock shrines, the temples of Ekambareswara, Kailasanatha and Varadarajaswamy. The districts of Thanjavur boast of hundreds of ancient temples. The town of Thanjavur was the seat of the glorious Chola Empire of Tamilnadu, and was later on the seat of the Nayaks and the Marathas. True to art historian Fergusson, the Chola artists conceived like giants and finished like jewelers. One of the most famous temples here is the Brihadisvara Temple. There are about 70 temples in this region. Thanjavur is situated halfway between Tiruchirappalli (60km) and the coast. On arrival in Tanjore, check-in at your hotel. Relax & retrieve.

DAY 06: TANJORE – TRICHY – TANJORE (60 KMS ONE WAY/1 HRS)

After breakfast excursion to Trichy – Tiruchirappalli, situated on the banks of the river Cauvery is the fourth largest city in Tamil Nadu. It was a citadel of the early Cholas which later fell to the Pallavas. Trichy is a fine blend of tradition and modernity built around the Rock Fort. Apart from the Fort, there are several Churches, Colleges and Missions dating back to the 1760s. The town and its fort, now in Trichy were built by the Nayaks of Madurai. This city has given great Tamil scholars whose contributions to the Tamil literature have been very significant. The most famous land mark of this bustling town is the Rockfort Temple, a spectacular monument perched on a massive rocky out crop which rises abruptly from the plain to tower over the old city. It was one of the main centers around which the wars of the Carnatic were fought in the 18th century during the British-French struggle for supremacy in India. The city is a thriving commercial centre in Tamil Nadu and is famous for artificial diamonds, cigars, handloom cloth, glass bangles and wooden and clay toys.  Relax & retrieve.

DAY 07: TANJORE – MADURAI (183 KMS/4 HRS)

Morning visit Brihadisvara Temple and other places of interests and drive to Karaikudi (Chetinad) and on arrival check-in at your hotel. One of the oldest cities in India situated on the banks of river vaigai.  It has rich historical and cultural back ground nearly 2600 year old city. Relax & retrieve.

DAY 08: MADURAI

Morning city tour of Madurai. Visit famous Madurai Meenakshi Temple. The one thousand pillard mandapam is a sight of Perfection in architecture. Also visit the Palace close by. Afternoon is free to explore the city on your own. Relax & retrieve.

DAY 09: MADURAI – RAMESHWARAM-MADURAI

Full day excursion to Rameshwaram a city of swell and gentle sand dunes, embellished with the delicacy of casurina trees and stark palms.  Rameshwaram -is an island situated on the tip of the Indian peninsula and the most sacred temple town of India is an island hallowed by the epic Ramayana. It is the place from where Lord Rama had built a bridge across the sea to rescue his consort Sita. This is the place where Rama worshipped Lord Shiva and erected lingam to cleanse away the sin of Ravana.  It is significant for the Hindus. The presiding deity is the Linga of Sri Ranganatha, which happens to be one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of India. Rameshwaram is popularly referred as the ‘Benaras of the south’. To attain Moksha it is believed that a visit is mandatory. In fact the entire area of Rameshwaram is associated with various incidents from the Ramayana. Return to Madurai by evening. DAY 10: A MADURAI – TRIVANDRUM (264 KMS / 6 HRS)

Morning drive for Trivandrum, on arrival check-in at your hotel. Afternoon city tour of visiting the Sree Padmanabha Swami Temple, Napier Museum, Chitralayam Arts Gallery, Zoological gardens, Reptile house, Observatory and Kanakakunnu Palace. Relax & retrieve.

DAY 11: TRIVANDRUM – CAPE CAMORIN – TRIVANDRUM

Morning drive for same day excursion to Cape Camorin visiting Padmanabhapuram Palace & Archeological museum Relax & retrieve.
