Frank S. Smith – mountaineer, explorer, botanist who also authored a book called “The Valley of Flowers” which unveiled the beauty and floral splendors of the valley has camped here way back in 1937 and opened the way to this paradise for nature enthusiasts. Trek to Valley of Flowers India is situated in the upper expansions of Bhyundar Ganga in the far interior of Garhwal Himalayas. Valley of Flowers is famous for the various species of wild flowers.  The valley covers a vast area of about 87.5 square kms. It is situated at an elevation of 3,658 mts above sea level. There will be numerous waterfalls on the route to valley of flowers. This was declared as THE NATIONAL PARK in 1982 and it is now a world heritage site.

Day 1: NEW DELHI – HARIDWAR (230 KMS/06 HRS)

Upon arrival in Delhi. Drive to Haridwar. On arrival in Haridwar, check into your hotel. Evening witness the Ganga Aarti at Har-ki –Pauri.  Har-ki-Pauri is the main Ghat known as Brahmakund, popular legend has it that Lord Vishnu left his footprint at Har-ki-Pauri. The whole environs echoes with the sounds of conch shells and bells and priests perform ritual worship of the river. Thousands of earthen lamps are floated in the water, which twinkle like gold in the darkness makes it an enthralling sight.  Overnight at hotel.

Day 2 : HARIDWAR – JOSHIMATH (264 KMS/8-9 HRS) VIA DHARI DEVI TEMPLE

After an early breakfast, drive to Joshimath. Drive to Alaknanda valley from Deoprayag – a small town beholds the beauty of the confluence of rivers Bhagirathi & Alaknanda. And from here only the river Ganges got it name. Visit Dhari Devi Temple placed on the way to Joshimath. Upon arrival at Joshimath by late evening, check in to Hotel. Overnight at Hotel

Day 3: DAY 03: JOSHIMATH – GOVINDGHAT (22 KMS/1 HRS) – GHANGHARIA (14 KMS TREK/5-6 HRS

Day is scheduled for the trek of Govind Ghat with a gradual ascent along a well maintained pilgrim trail to GHANGHARIA. Enjoy the surrounding on the way. Upon arrival at Ghangariya check into the hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 4: DAY 04: GHANGHARIA – VALLY OF FLOWERS – GHANGRIA (5 KMS TREK ONE SIDE/4-5 HRS)

After breakfast trek to Valley of flowers. The rare wildflowers like Geranium, Marsh marigold, Prinula, Potentilla, Geum, Asters, Lilium, Ranunculus, Corydalis, Inula, Braham kamal, Campanula, Pedicularis, Arisaema, Morina, Impatiens, Bistorta, Ligularia, Anaphalis, Saxifrages, Sibbaldia, Thermo- psis, Trollius, Codonopsis, Dactylorhiza, Cypripedium, Str-awberry, Epilobium, Rhododendrons and so on are there to seize your attention for an awesome experience. The valley of flowers is 10 kms long, 2 kms wide and is divided by the Pushpawati stream, into which several tiny streams and waterfalls merge. Now trek back to Ghangria. Dinner & overnight stay at the hotel

Day 5: GHANGHARIA-HEMKUND-GHANGHARIA (06 KMS TREK ONE SIDE)

After an early breakfast, Trek to Hemkund Sahib(4329 meter) above sea level. Gurudwara Hemkund Sahib, on the far side of the great glacial lake of Lokpal is an arduous pilgrimage to the 4329 meter-high. A number of snow covered peaks rise around this austerely beautiful lake. The Granth Sahib, the Sikh Guru Gobind Singh narrates that in a previous life, he meditated on the shores of a lake surrounded by seven snowcapped mountains now recognized by Hemkund. Late afternoon trek back to GHANGHARIA; Dinner & overnight stay at the hotel

Day 6: GHANGARIA – GOVIND GHAT (14 KMS TREK /5-6 HRS) – BADRINATH (30 KMS/2 HRS)

After breakfast, proceed to Govind Ghat and later upto Badrinath by road through the winding mountain roads with splendid views. Upon arrival in Badrinath, local sightseeing covering Tapt Kund: Natural thermal springs on the bank of the river Alaknanda, where it is customary to bathe before entering the Badrinath temple. Narad Kund:  A recess in the river, near Tapt Kund, forming a pool from where the Badrinath idol was recovered. Mata Murty Temple: Devoted to the mother of Sri Badrinathji. Other important temples include Sesh Netra Temple, Urvashi Temple and Charanpaduka. Mana Village: Inhabited by an Indo-Mongolian tribe, it is the last Indian village before Tibet. Bhim Pul:                    On the other side of Mana village, a massive rock forming a natural bridge lies over the roaring Saraswati River. It presents a spectacular view of water thundering down through the narrow passage under the rock and is believed to have been placed there by Bhim, the second eldest among the five Pandava brothers. Vyas Gufa (cave):       Near Mana Village, this is a rock-cave where Ved Vyas is believed to have composed the Mahabharata and the pauranic commen. Overnight at hotel

Day 7: BADRINATH – RISHIKESH (300 KMS/ 11 HRS)

After an early breakfast drive back to Rishikesh. On the way visit Rudraprayag to see confluence of Alaknanda and Mandakini. Arrival in Rishikesh, check into the Hotel. Explore the ashrams and temples nearby. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 8: RISHIKESH – DELHI (230 KMS/07 HRS)

Rishikesh: Named after the Lord Vishnu, Rishikesh is a holy city for Hindus. Located in the foothills of the Himalaya in northern India it is also known as the yoga center of the world and is home to many world renowned ashrams. Rishikesh styles itself as the ‘Yoga Capital of the World’, with masses of ashrams and all kinds of yoga and meditation classes. The fast-flowing Ganges is surrounded by forested hills inside the city. Apart from temples and ashrams Rishikesh is now a popular white-water rafting centre, backpacker hang-out, and gateway to treks in the Himalaya. Visit Laxman Jhula/Ram Jhula/ Swargashram…. By early afternoon leave for Delhi, Time permitting we can stop at  Bharat Mata Temple – 4 kms from Haridwar and is a multi-storey six-floor structure. The ground floor has the exquisite sculpture of Bharat Mata. The temple also contains sculptures of Buddha, Mahavir, Guru Nanak, Kabir, Tulsi Das, Meera, and Natraj. This is a real beautiful temple to see.  Also See Pawandham. Drive to Delhi airport (6hrs).
